Allen's

A 4th generation family of Allen's serving the construction needs of Amherst & area for over 100 years. In 1891 William Ainslie Allen moved from Baie Verte, NB to Amherst Head and set up a sash making shop. in the early 1900's he went into construction, building many fine homes in Amherst (in particular, Victoria St, Amherst). He continued in construction until his death in 1930. K.P.Allen, William's son, took over at the age of 17, added building supplies division to the construction business, until his death in 1964. Building supplies, construction and mill-work carried on in 1964 by his son Deane B. Allen. Operated over 100 Years under various names W.A Allen Contractor, K.P.Allen Ltd, Allen's Buildall, Allen's Building Supplies, Amherst Millwork Ltd
